What is Rag?
RAG (Receive And Give) is a deep-rooted NUS tradition, where students from every faculty and hall come together to put up a "Chingay"-like dance performance coupled with handcrafted stage props. This year's Rag Day will take place on 7 August 2013 (last day of Freshmen Orientation Week) at NUS Sports and Recreation Centre.
The purpose of Rag performances is to show appreciation to the public for their donations on Flag Day, and of course, to let both freshmen and seniors have a blast and bond over the long summer break.
More importantly, its not always work here at Rag. When we are done for the day, we have dinner, play some sports or just sit around and catch up with each other. As we always say, "At the end of the day, having fun and making friends is the things that count".
So, join us If you have a passion for dance or design, or if you simply want to make new friends!
What is Flag?
FLAG involves giving back to the community through fund-raising and initiating activities to put a smile on our beneficiaries’ faces. This year, NUS Students' Computing Club will be working with Marine Parade Family Service Centre (MPFSC) in support of their causes. Flag Day will take place island-wide on 6 August 2013, one day before Rag Day.
Note that Rag and Flag make up the last 2 days of the SoC's Freshmen Orientation Week's programme.
Join us if you want to make a difference in the lives of both individuals and families alike!
